The biggest difference between the Odyssey Neo G9 and OLED G9 is the display technology used. The Neo G9 uses VA with a quantum-dot film for better color reproduction, a mini LED backlight for insane brightness, amazing contrast levels, and better control over local dimming.

The Samsung Odyssey Neo G9 49-inch has the same curvature and 32:9 aspect ratio, but won't be as wide as the new 57-inch Odyssey Neo G9. So if you want the biggest screen possible, you'll want to go for the newer model.

Despite this, the Neo G9 isn't a great monitor for day-to-day use or content creation. The super-ultrawide aspect ratio and aggressive 1000R curvature are a problem when using the monitor to view and edit photos and videos. A 32:9 aspect ratio isn't a great fit when editing content for a 16:9 display.

The Samsung Odyssey Neo G9 is excellent for gaming. It has a 240Hz refresh rate with native FreeSync and G-SYNC compatibility, but there are some bugs with its VRR.

One difference is that the OLED panel on the OLED G9 risks burn-in and has text clarity issues, so if you need something for productivity use, the Neo G9 is the better choice. However, the OLED G9 is still better for watching multimedia content and gaming.

Our Verdict. The Samsung Odyssey G7 C32G75T is significantly better than the Samsung Odyssey G5 C27G55T. The G7 has a better contrast ratio, higher refresh rate, and much faster response time. It also has a better SDR and HDR color gamut, and it gets a lot brighter.
